Emma plans to stand for the Parish Council. Lilian tells Justin she knows about his extra curricular activities.

Radio Times: Lilian has ammunition. Emma eyes a new venture

• Eddie has collected the free apples but Joe doesn’t believe they are of any use. Shy Colin doesn’t know anything about cider. Eddie tries to tell him to stay at home but Joe wants his right of veto. Emma isn’t thrilled at the idea of helping Ed select ram semen but if it’s that important to Ed, she will help.
• Neil is pleased that Robert has offered to stand for the Parish Council. Just as well because Lilian wouldn’t do it. She is clearly not impressed at the imminent return of Justin.
• When Eddie and Joe get to the garage, Joe is astonished to find that the apples are Tumble Trussocks. He hasn’t seen any for ages. They are early and make a lovely cider – just in time for Christmas. What they need is to find out where the trees are. Eddie has plans to find the team that picked them in the local pub.
• Emma tells Neil that Noletando is staying on before looking at the ram website. Emma is annoyed to find out that he has co-opted Robert to the Parish Council. She doesn’t see why she shouldn’t apply. Neil is surprised she is interested. He tells her she’ll have to write a letter saying why she is a good candidate and Robert will have to do the same. She’ll have to make it quick though.
• Looking at the website, Emma isn’t very interested and doesn’t want the gory details. But then Ed is distracted by her saying she wants to be on the Parish Council. Surely she doesn’t have the time and it was only a week ago she was saying she felt like an outsider in Ambridge. Emma says that’s why she is doing it – it’s about time Ambridge took her family seriously. Ed goes ahead and chooses some rams. He thinks that his business is how to get the family taken seriously.
• Lilian is very cold towards Justin on his return. He is surprised to find out that the agreement with Damara has been torn up. She lets it drop that she knows from Mandy Beesborough about his extra-curricular activities. Visits to family, dinner with posh friend. Justin blusters that Miranda ambushed him. The Scottish deal is complicated and he didn’t want to rock the boat. And Lilian is more infuriated when she finds out that he let Aunt Moira believe he and Miranda were still married. Lilian slams the door and makes up the guest bedroom for Justin.
