  • Alistair is on pins, waiting to see what Harrison’s decision will be. Having been so busy with the practice, Alistair has not noticed that Shula has been a little subdued. Kenton explains Wayne’s bereavement to Alistair and how self-possessed he has been. Kenton has insisted that Wayne takes time off for the funeral, which is today, and which Jolene has accompanied him to.
  • Anna is frustrated by Carol’s attempts to use the stairs without supervision. Anna is working on Helen’s case and is feeling more positive since Helen is more willing of late to initiate and maintain contact. Something about this case has got under her skin. Carol admires her daughter’s tenacity to keep going with a case that brings a personal cost. She also reminds Anna of her record of success stories and begs Anna to get Helen off, then quickly apologises for applying pressure. It isn’t that Anna is not willing to fight for Helen, but she will need Helen to divulge more which at the moment, she just isn’t doing.
  • After small talk about Fallon’s input to the fete and Lynda’s forthright manner in its organisation, Alistair steers the conversation with Harrison to what is really on his mind. Alistair is stepping down and Adam is not interested in the role. Really the role is as much about engaging with social media to keep people informed, as the leadership itself. Harrison quickly sees where this leading and nips it in the bud, telling Alistair he is just not interested. When Fallon later tries to persuade him otherwise, Harrison issues an ultimatum: that they work as a team. He will be captain if she does the cricket teas. Fallon initially thinks this is beyond her reach with managing the tearooms as well, but they settle on a compromise, and she will provide the teas as long as it does not clash with paid work.
