Fallon makes a surprise appearance. Lynda blows her own trumpet.

Radio Times: Clarrie gets an unexpected house guest.

Characters: , , , , ,
  • Clarrie’s in a rush to get to church for harvest festival, and says she hasn’t time to cook breakfast for Ed, who’s had a late night. She changes her tune quickly when a sleepy Fallon appears, though, and does a huge fry-up for the pair of them.
  • Lynda notices Clarrie’s late arrival at church, and embarrasses her by mentioning it. Lynda then launches into a boastful account of her new career with Borsetshire Life, which non-pluses Clarrie, who isn’t a B. L reader. A relieved Clarrie is saved by Alan’s arrival.
  • The Harvest Supper gets under way, with lots of good food and Barn Dancing called by Jolene. Fallon makes Ed dance, despite his pleas of injury, and even he enjoys it. Eddie tells Clarrie she handled the Fallon and Ed moment very well. Clarrie says she’s just delighted that he’s going out with such a nice girl.
  • Lynda waylays Alan to ask whether the rumours about the departure of the Vicar of Loxley Barratt are true. Alan says they are, and yes, he may be asked to help out in the vacancy. Lynda seems to see the situation as material for one of her crusades.
