Fore! There’s excitement all round at the golf club dinner.
Radio Times: It is the night of the golf club dinner and there is a new crisis for Kathy to handle.
Characters: Brian, Jennifer, Kathy, Kenton, Lilian, Matt- Neither Lilian nor Kenton is looking forward to tonight’s Golf Club dinner. Matt had been dead against going until two weeks ago, when he had a sudden change of mind that Lilian can’t explain – yet. Lilian fears that the BL Board will look down their noses at Matt.
- Kathy bumps into Jennifer – literally – but no harm is done, though she provides rather more detail than Jennifer needs about her busy day. Back home, Kenton changes in a hurry so that he can go with Kathy and hence not have to drive back; he assures her he will be a support and a credit to her.
- He does offer to help but no, he is a guest. So with Kathy so busy and Leigh, the golf club pro also busy, Kenton takes it upon himself to entertain Leigh’s girlfriend. Matt enjoys a chat with Brian, the subtleties of which are lost on Lilian, after which he predicts to her that they will have the last laugh on BL – and it may not take long.
- When the cabaret starts, Lilian is all for witnessing it but Jennifer rushes her away – it’s an argument between Amelia, Benedict’s ex-wife, and Amanda, the new younger model. Leigh steps in to calm things down, which infuriates a slightly inebriated Kenton to the point of throwing a punch at him.
- So Kenton is taken home early by a very cross Kathy – nothing new there but she has more reason than usual. She then has to go back to the golf club to clear up, hoping she still has a job.
