Harrison makes enquiries, as does Jolene
Radio Times: Harrison makes enquiries, as does Jolene
Characters: Alistair, Harrison, Jolene, Lilian, Matt, Shula- Matt is trying to book a flight, he’s in a hurry to get away. He wants more painkillers but also tells Lilian he is much better. He carefully avoids Lilian’s questions about the horses going to Costa Rica.
- Harrison has come to The Stables to ask Shula and Alistair where they were exactly on the night of the Hunt Ball as he wants to have a clear idea of where everyone was, and when. Shula seems very defensive when explaining how busy she was all evening.
- Lilian pops into The Bull for a snifter. She explains to Jolene how Justin has gone off to London, and all about her suspicions about Matt. Is there really a racecourse? Perhaps they haven’t built the communications hut yet! Jolene is happy to call some of the other racecourses and make some enquiries.
- Shula complains about Harrison’s enquiries. Yet again, she gets agitated, especially about the hour when Alistair couldn’t find her.
- Having made some calls, Jolene and Lilian conclude that there is no new racecourse being built in Costa Rica. The alleged location is in a national park which would never have got planning permission. In addition, nobody has ever heard of Melling Investment or Matt Crawford. Why has Matt been buying horses for a non-existent racecourse? Lilian bemoans ever considering going away with Matt.
- Matt has another visitor. Harrison informs him that the case will now be handled by CID, as the police are now considering it as attempted murder.
