Helen puts Rob in his place. Tony buys another bull.
Radio Times: Helen cannot believe her ears, and the birds are in full voice.
Characters: Helen, Jim, Robert, Tom, Tony- Shopping done, Robert’s visit to the temporary village shop allows a bird-watching conversation with arch-rival Jim.
- Tom is surprised to hear from Helen that she thinks they should discuss with mum and dad the idea about moving their retail operation back to the farm. That’s at odds with what Rob told him. Helen is flabbergasted. She will certainly talk to Rob and for the record there are no plans for a baby – yet.
- Jim is preparing flood reports for a meeting on Thursday. When Robert declares that Lynda knows nothing of this, Jim admits that it is not a full meeting of the committee. More bird-spotting rivalry ensues and Jim scores a point.
- Tom has taken Tony to see a bull – and Tony is taken with the bull. A deal is done.
- “How was your day?” Rob asks. “It could have been better!” Helen replies, taking him to task for speaking out of turn to Tom. As usual Rob wriggles out of it, playing the Henry card, but for once Helen asserts herself. Afterwards she rings Tom to ask him give her a couple of days to mull it over; she really doesn’t know what to think.
