It doesn’t look as if Heather will cope on her own. Peggy starts speculating on Carol’s past.

Radio Times: Ruth and David worry, and concerns are raised over what Heather will become.

Characters: , , , , ,
  • Ruth is going back to Prudhoe for Heather’s social care assessment. Ruth doesn’t know how it will all turn out. And what will happen if she can’t cope on her own. Jill has been cooking for her too.
  • Peggy is surprised to hear Jennifer has bought another bookcase and is horrified when Adam lets slip about the legacy. She thinks Jennifer should be hiding things like his books away, not displaying them to everyone.
  • Charlie appears to lecture Adam on not finishing the maize. He wants him to get going straight away although Adam thinks the ground is still too muddy and the neighbours will object to mud on the road. Charlie tells him not to be so negative and to get Ed Grundy in to clear the roads.
  • Jill tells Peggy Elizabeth is very busy. Peggy comments that Roy must be on holiday because she saw him looking very scruffy in the village. Jill thinks that must be why all Elizabeth can talk about is work. They then gossip about Carol’s past. Her adoptive parents were killed in the blitz. So who looked after her when she was growing up and what was she doing before she turned up in Ambridge?
  • Charlie turns up again later and starts telling Adam how to do his job. At least this time he realises and apologises. He tries to tell Adam about the new planning application but Adam doesn’t want to hear about it.
  • Ruth is very pessimistic when she phones. Heather is very against sheltered accommodation but Ruth doesn’t know how she is going to cope. She will need a lot of support. Jill suggests maybe she could move into Rickyard to let Heather move into Brookfield but David isn’t sure she would go for it even if it was fair on Jill. He still thinks sheltered housing in Borchester might be the answer but isn’t sure that would work either.
