Characters: Alistair, Brian, Clarrie, Debbie, Greg, Kate, Shula

• Greg gets Debbie’s agreement over the area of land that he wants as set-aside – Brian’s glad that they’ve agreed on it.
• Brian tries to invite both his daughters to lunch tomorrow, but Kate storms off when he makes a slightly tactless remark about money. He mentions to Debbie that she might try her luck talking to her sister, she agrees but would rather not do it over a family Sunday lunch.
• Later, Brian apologises for his words, but Kate is still not up for compromising. Brian points out that the facts don’t look good and wouldn’t talking be for the best. Kate, though, would rather run the risk that she’ll eventually lose than to go down without a fight.
• The bike ride heads off, even Alistair turns up having borrowed Lynda’s old warhorse. There’s much laughter, but he heads off. Clarrie starts to struggle with a big hill and he wants to leave to make the cricket match. Shula would rather he go with her to the next church, but he turns back.
