  • Jazzer leaves the village shop laden with snacks as Harrison walks in. Behind the counter, Lynda nobbles Harrison about the speed of traffic through the village. She has a further enquiry about a more ethical situation. She wants to know Harrison’s thoughts the legality of misrepresenting a situation via electronic communications. Harrison seems somewhat edgy but tells her that as far as he knows, there’s nothing illegal about using an alias. In fact, people do it all the time online. Lilian walks in and almost immediately her phone rings. She takes the call outside.
  • Lilian just manages to miss a call from Justin. She calls back immediately but only manages to get an answering message. Checking her messages, she discovers one from Justin. He’s driving back at present but will be at the Dower House at around 4:30 and would like to see her then, if at all possible. Well, she thinks, at least she’s going to be “dumped” in person.
  • Answering a knock at the door, Kirsty discovers Jazzer laden with snacks and chocolates. As Tom is away, he thought he would come round to celebrate Kirsty’s leave from Grey Gables. He thought that she would enjoy a film afternoon and has come prepared. After some hesitation, and at his instance, she invites him in. He has both the food and the DVD. Jim’s idea of a good movie “Citizen Kane”, didn’t appeal to him too much. Instead, he bought another, “Tango and Cash”. Hmm…
  • Lynda tells Roy that she’s checked the information given to her by Harrison and it seems to be correct. Volunteers in Darrington and Edgeley seem to be checking the speed of through traffic with speed guns. She is sure that it is causing traffic to divert through Ambridge to avoid being caught. She insists on bringing the matter to the attention of the Parish Council at its next meeting.
  • Despite Kirsty’s misgivings the film though weird, was a real tonic. She loved it and thanks Jazzer just as Roy comes home. He offers to watch the rest of the extras on the DVD with them. Kirsty excuses herself for a few minutes. Roy confides in Jazzer that he hasn’t seen Kirsty look so happy in days. Jazzer knows that there was no quick fix; he just hopes that he has helped a little.
  • The meeting at the Dower House starts off rather awkwardly. Justin explains that though Miranda isn’t blameless in her previous relationships she has always been discrete. Justin has always needed at least friendship not just something “functional”. Lilian says that there is no need to explain. He disagrees. She needs to understand just how his marriage to Miranda stayed intact for so many years. However this time Miranda felt very threatened, feeling that the connection between Justin and Lilian was very strong. Over the weekend things came to a head. He was given a choice, it was Miranda or her. And he has chosen her. Lilian is shocked. “Are you sure?” she asks. “I’m going to divorce her” he says. “I want to be with you”.
