  • Woodbine will do very nicely. That’s the verdict of Harrison and Fallon when they look it over. It will be 10 days before the kitchen is done and they can move in. There’s just one problem: Harrison had planned to do his weight training in the spare room but he can’t stand the decor.
  • Jazzer is busy repairing a trailer when Pat returns home. She wonders where Helen is. They were going to move some cheese together but it is done; Pat has not spoken to her in days. Jazzer reports that the vicar has been; that’s about the harvest supper, which is to be held in the barn. Jazzer is meeting the buyer of Mike’s bottling plant today, to see if he still has a job, so he will go to The Bull for lunch. Last evening Eddie was seriously bad-mouthing the Fairbrothers in the pub.
  • Pip is on her own until tomorrow. Adam calls to inspect the wheat and offers help if she needs it. Pip is having a bit of a crisis: she expected to be heading for São Paulo by now and feels she is a burden. She loves it here but her friends are off seeing the world. Adam counsels that she will know when it’s time to broaden her horizons, meanwhile enjoy being here; he is sure her parents appreciate her. Adam is enjoying being in charge but he has made so many changes, something is bound to go wrong; he is thinking of trying mob grazing – Charlie’s idea – share farming with someone with cattle. It would be crazy to buy his own cattle, wouldn’t it? Next time Pip has a crisis, remember she isn’t the only one with a lot to prove.
