Jennifer is so desperate she is even beginning to think about selling the farmhouse.

Radio Times: Jennifer struggles to keep the peace

Characters: Adam, Brian, David, Jennifer, Pip, Ruth, Toby

• Ruth is very worried about Home Farm. The meeting didn’t go well. After Kate’s threat to sue and Ruth backing her up on the sale of the farmhouse she feels guilty. David tries to suggest she should stand down from being Ruairi’s attorney but that isn’t her way. David says he will take her out for the day to do the Fear by Four that Ruth was given for their birthday. Pip says she will cover as long as she can use the kitchen to discuss her birth plan with Toby on neutral territory.
• Kate is sulking in her bedroom playing loud music. She isn’t really talking. Brian thinks her as a petulant child while Jennifer thinks they should negotiate.
• Ruth and David are initially interested by the look of the Fear by Four. They take some grief from some younger people but David thinks it can’t be worse than Home Farm.
• Pip discusses the birth plan with Toby. He is trying to ignore the details. It doesn’t seem real. Pip says it will be fine. She knows what to expect. Toby isn’t so sure. Pip says they need to choose an all terrain buggy so she can walk around the farm. It’s £500 which shocks him but she points out that it is about the same as the money he wasted breaking the bouncy castle. However, in an attempt to calm things down, she asks him to prepare a mix tape.
• Jennifer and Brian have a meal at Grey Gables to get out of the house. Adam joins them and he says he’s had a call from Kate. She says she is feeling beleaguered. He thinks she might come to her senses if they back off a bit. Brian can’t believe it. They’ve picked up her pieces over and over again. Adam says they have to calm down things. Brian storms off in another tantrum. Adam tells Jennifer that the package of land is the only logical one to sell. Kate is only whining about a few tractors. Jennifer bursts into tears. Every time she thinks things are getting better it just gets worse again. She is even beginning to think about selling the farmhouse to get out of the mess but Adam tells her that won’t ever happen.
• David and Ruth get back from the Fear by Four. They actually missed out one event and Ruth threw up. It was a truly awful experience but they can laugh about it.
