Jess upsets Helen’s domestic bliss with the news that she is carrying Rob’s baby.

Radio Times: It’s Friday night at Blossom Hill Cottage.

Characters: , ,
  • By the magic of radio, time has advanced little since the last episode: Jess is still on Helen’s doorstep but not for much longer because she barges in claiming that, due to her condition, she needs a sit down and a drink of water. She has been trying to contact Rob but he doesn’t take her calls.
  • Helen doesn’t want to hear this but Jess assures that her baby is Rob’s, conceived when Rob visited her in February. Why would she give him a second chance? Because no man has ever come close; Helen should understand that. She doesn’t want him back; she just wants him to face up to his responsibilities.
  • When Rob returns home, he orders Jess to leave then sets about spinning a different tale. Don’t let Jess drive a wedge between us; if Helen wants him to take a pre-natal paternity test he will do so. Does she still trust him? She does but is not in a hurry to accompany him to bed. She needs time on her own.
