  • He doesn’t give up! Rob is getting Henry to help clean his riding boots ready for the hunt. Helen is not pleased that he is encouraging Henry’s interest in hunting.
  • The promised night out is tonight. Roy will book a nice restaurant and he encourages Hayley to go shopping for something new to wear – his treat.
  • Freddie has gone missing; he didn’t go to school. Lily is worried about him too but he has been texting her; he took off on his bike. Maybe he went to Uncle Rupert’s memorial – apparently he goes there a lot – so Elizabeth and Roy check it out.
  • In the dress shop Hayley does not recognise Jess; presumably they never met when Jess was in Ambridge. They help each other with clothes though Jess doesn’t buy anything because she is fat and getting fatter. She is pregnant.
  • Until Freddie comes home – he is still in touch with Lily – of course Roy couldn’t think of leaving Elizabeth. When he does turn up there is a slanging match. Freddie has a lot to say about what his mother and Roy have been up to; Elizabeth sends Roy home to calm the situation. Of course it is too late by now to go out; Roy does notice that his wife’s eyes look a bit smudged but the new dress goes unnoticed. When he goes upstairs ahead of her, he leaves Hayley to sob alone.
  • Helen has a visitor. It’s Jess. What the hell is she doing here?
