  • There’s no answer when Hayley tries to contact Roy. It doesn’t help when Fallon waxes lyrical about Loxfest; how proud of Roy must Hayley be.
  • Mike is wrestling with the problem of a broken pasteuriser; a new one would cost £15k. To Vicky, for whom all is subordinate to Beth, the solution is simple: knock the milk round on the head; they won’t even be in Ambridge much longer. Hold on; Mike is not in quite such a headlong rush to leave.
  • Fallon plays Jolene the recording of the Midnight Walkers that she made on her phone. What about Harrison – he was great; he must have responded to the crowd, or someone in it. But there will be no more gigs; Jolene is retiring to spend more time with Kenton.
  • The engineer was able to fix the pasteuriser – this time – but he warns that it may be unreliable and they should really buy a new one. Mike is not in a headlong rush to do that either; he is taking one day at a time.
  • It’s been a bad day for Ed and in The Bull he decides to tackle Charlie Thomas who is also in the bar. He is surprised when Charlie apologises for his outburst last time; he went too far. He has an offer for Ed – some tractor work on the Estate starting tomorrow. But don’t go near the combine!
  • Talking to Hayley, Vicky picks up on the signals that all is not well. Hayley does her best to be supportive of the proposed move to Birmingham, though she is clear that doesn’t want them to go. When Hayley bursts into tears, Vicky naturally assumes that it is due to their move and she assures Hayley that it will be alright. Hayley doesn’t explain but hopes she is right.
