  • Jill is up very early. She’s obviously anxious about the op and admits she’s asked Shula to take her to the hospital. Ruth needs to take care of herself. Ben turns up in the kitchen asking for a party as well as paintballing and Ruth agrees but Jill thinks it’s not very wise. It will be a lot of work.
  • Tom and Kirsty are house hunting. They’ve found something that looks very grown up but needs redecorating. A more rural one might suit. None of them really suit though. When they are looking at details in The Bull, Neil turns up and tells them how great it is to build your own house and how important it is to be near work. They try to say it’s not what they are looking for but Neil keeps on.
  • David has agreed to be flood warden for the Am. He’s already been pestered by Lynda about flood defences and dredging. Jill comes to tell him that Eddie is still ill and won’t be able to do the milking. She asks him if she’s noticed the change in her recently and David says he has – she looks totally wiped out. Jill warns him about the party and he says he understands but he doesn’t want Jill worrying about it before her op.
  • Later on, Ruth has a tantrum when Jill and David start fussing over her. And she is even crosser over lunch with Ben and David and insists she isn’t 105. But Jill insists on helping her clear up.
