  • Take it steady! Eddie is taking Joe to the fracture clinic but is planning to talk to The Echo when he comes back. Nic will be on hand to keep an eye on Joe, so she packs Eddie off to the pub and when she bumps into Ed, suggests that his dad might like some company there.
  • Any spare change please? Darrell is begging for a few pennies but is dismayed to be confronted by Eric, the bully from The Elms; he gets a warning not to be there when Eric gets back from lunch at The Elms.
  • Ruth calls to see how Joe is doing. He is still pretty low and now has an even heavier cast to carry about; the idea of everyone signing it does not appeal.
  • Eddie is worrying how they are going to manage and Ed points out that he and mum are not on their own; if they need Ed or Emma to help, just let them know what is needed. Eddie is for the first time seeing Joe as an old man; he is dependent on them for everything and he hates it. Once back at home, despite Joe’s protests, Eddie takes more photos now the bruising is coming out; he has consulted a solicitor who has encouraged this.
  • Darrell has moved but not far enough! Eric has come back from The Elms where he found himself barred for aggressive behaviour. Darrell protests that it wasn’t him who grassed Eric but he is not believed and gets another thumping.
