Radio Times: Tom puts himself forward, and Rex is feeling bold

Characters: , , , , , , ,
  • David admires a drill that Josh and Rex are doing up in order to sell it. Rex asks if David knows anything about the proposed housing development; he has heard rumours that it will be huge.
  • Building is under discussion at Bridge Farm, too, where Tom and Helen look at some deigns for an environmentally friendly timber frame building to replace the pack-house and provide classrooms. Tom has concerns about the cost; just increase the overdraft says Helen airily.
  • Rex and Anisha go for a run, and Anisha tells Rex about the puppy show which the hunt will be running. being no lover of hunting, Rex says initially that he is not interested, but Anisha manages to persuade him. The only problem is that he has a ticket for Silverstone on the same day. As they part, somewhat awkwardly, Rex tells Anisha that there is something between them and they should go on a proper date. Anisha agrees, somewhat surprised, but rejects the suggestion of the cinema. She wants to go for dinner. Rex agrees and leaves Anisha to book for Tuesday evening.
  • Tom and Helen sit their parents down and show them their plans. To everyone’s astonishment, Tony is quite won over, and they agree to go ahead with accepting Justin’s offer. Half the money will go to Pat and Tony’s retirement fund, the other half to the new pack house and education centre. Pat and Tony can be involved as much or as little as they wish.
  • Having met Brian, David is none the wiser about Justin’s plans. All he knows is that Lilian has asked Brian to accommodate James at Home Farm, an idea which did not appeal to Brian. David then turns the conversation to what Josh will do with his business when he goes to university. I’m not going, announces the cocky Josh, because I have no university place. I’ve told them I’m not going.
