  • It’s Josh’s final exam and he can’t wait to party. Ignoring a call from Rex, Josh is impatient with David who wants him to focus on the exam and, of course, his vote in the referendum.
  • Toby rings David. He wants to ask a big favour. Somewhat reluctantly David sits through the video then leaves Rex in no doubt about his feelings; it would, to say the least, have been polite to ask before using Brookfield land to film. He tells Toby that he and Rex are young and inexperienced and this comes across in the video. They need David far more than he needs them. David leaves Toby with an injunction to think about what he has said.
  • On her way to the cattle Pip meets Alice, who is surprised that Pip is not nursing a hangover. Alice teases her about the effect she had on Akash at the party, and says she will come to look at the cattle with Pip. She is won over by the butterflies on the herbal leys and the cattle grazing so contentedly. Asked why she is showing this sudden interest in agriculture, Alice admits that she found Adam’s agri-technology fascinating, and having heard that the company he deals with is looking for maternity cover for an engineer, Alice is keen to find out more.
  • Managing to catch Josh at last, Rex leaves him in no doubt of his feelings about the ‘stolen’ hens. Much as Josh tries to bluster and evade the issue, Rex sticks to his guns. Josh must now get in the car with Rex and Toby and go to apologise to Neil. For once Josh has no escape mechanism. Toby is somewhat unpleasant to Josh, and horrifies him by asking if he can come to the post-exam party.
  • David tells Pip about his conversation with Toby, and Pip manages to blurt out the dastardly Josh’s dealings over Neil’s hens. Furious David rings his errant son and orders him home. David is not asking, he is telling; Josh must come home NOW.
