Josh seems to be heading into stormy water; Lilian has much to consider; Justin seems to be indispensable.
Radio Times: Justin has an unexpected call and Eddie sows a seed
Characters: Eddie, Josh, Justin, Lilian, Rex, Ruth- Josh is trying to build his contact list and discovers that Eddie may be working for the Ashingtons at Heybury. They have a large arable farm. Unfortunately, right name, wrong family. Undaunted, he suggests that Eddie may like to claim for his stolen loader on his insurance. Shocked, Eddie points out that fraud like that could put Josh behind bars. Josh claims that he was only joking. However, Eddie mentions that Josh might like to visit a legitimate farm machinery sale at the market on Thursday.
- Lilian and Justin are shocked to hear Ruth’s news about Pip. They send their best wishes. When Ruth asks how the wedding plans are going, Lilian admits that the only firm arrangement is that Ian is doing the catering. Ruth heads off to buy ice cream for Pip. Justin can’t quite see why Lilian doesn’t use a wedding planner but is sure that all will turn out well in the end. She assures him that his services will be needed, elsewhere!
- Josh’s interest is piqued when Eddie mentions quad bikes being sold on Thursday. He asks Eddie to keep an eye out for potential bargains. As he drives away, Eddie mentions that he could be useful in other ways…for a fee. Josh phones Rex, who is still half asleep, with a job. He must get out the client list and email them all to see if there’s any interest in quad bike upgrades. It may soften the blow of his recent loss.
- Justin arrives home to find Lilian worrying about problems she has with a neighbour at her new house. It’s a disagreement about a right of way, and he won’t budge. Justin offers the services of his legal team free of charge. Delighted, she hands over the documents. Justin’s phone rings and Ruby takes to barking her head off. He goes outside to answer the call, saying mysteriously that the caller couldn’t have rung at a worse time.
- Rex has had two positive responses, including one from Adam. Josh tells him to get back to the other chap regarding trade in details. Josh will handle Adam. At the Dower House, Justin reckons that his legal team seem to have solved Lilian’ s legal problem. He casually suggests that it may be useful for Demara and Amside to share resources in future. Not wishing to lose her independence, Lilian asks for time to consider. The earlier phone call was about a Demara problem in Scotland. He has to go up on Sunday to sort things out. They both chuckle at a picture of Brian in town crier garb on the cover of Borsetshire Life.
- Josh tells Rex that he needs more quad bike interest. Rex must get details of the trade in deals on the website and then send follow-up emails to the non-responders. Rex prepares to leave as Ruth arrives. He enquires about Pip only to find that she’s gone back to Lower Loxley and won’t be back until the weekend. He leaves to attend to his website duties as Ruth tells Josh that they will be short-handed this week and there must be no “off-farm” activity. It’s all hands to the pump. Josh agrees. He won’t let the side down and that’s a promise!
