Julia’s letters are explained

Radio Times: Julia’s letters are explained

  • The cricket club voted to defeat the merger by just one vote with David eventually dropping into the anti camp. Sean and Roy, though, both tendered their resignations and are planning to join Darrington anyway.
  • Lynda’s offering some of her pictures to Lizzie for the art exhibition, but Lizzie’s not so sure about their quality – she thought that the portrait of Hermes was like Dougal from the Magic Roundabout!
  • The table top sale in aid of the millennium wood is going well, Satya’s sweets are selling well and, with the profits, she buys up a couple of hundred raffle tickets! She doesn’t win that though, Eddie does and claims a bottle of single malt. (Satya is looking to leave tomorrow, not wishing to outstay her welcome.) Julia’s a winner too – another of Lynda’s pictures, a view from Ambridge Hall, which Lizzie had already rejected but Julia thought would be ideal for the exhibition.
  • A phone call from Spain has solved Julia’s situation. Nigel has learnt that she’s run up £30,000 debts to a casino which were covered by an acquiantance who was labouring under the misapprenhension that Ellen’s bar was her’s and so she’d be good for the debt. He’s suggested that “associates” would call if the debt was repaid soon. Julia though, in typical style, idly dismisses that there’s a problem at all.
