Kate faces hard facts, Home Farm receives a contract because of Adam and Lilian’s unending tenancy is revealed to Brian.

Characters: Adam, Andrew Eagleton, Brian, Jennifer, Justin, Kate, Lilian- Brian confronts Kate as she is experiencing ‘creative visualisation.’ He wants to know why she isn’t out working; what is going on? Kate confesses that she has run out of money and she has spent all of Brian and Debbie’s funds. As Brian leaves in fury, he meets Jennifer bringing logs to Kate. Brian expresses his deep disappointment in Kate. This has got to stop and the family doesn’t owe her a living. Jennifer agrees completely
- Justin and Brian have a meeting about the BL Chair before the Board meeting. Justin has put Brian’s reelection at the top of the agenda. Adam turns up to give his presentation to the Board which will determine whether Home Farm gains back the lucrative contract that was previously lost.
- Lilian is smoking outside when Kate comes up. Kate glumly reports the result of the morning kerfuffle. Jennifer told Kate that there would be no more family funds for her venture. Lilian tells Kate that she will have to find a way to raise money on her own but Kate vetoes every one of Lilian’s suggestions.
- Before the Board, Adam stresses soil enrichment and preservation. There is some argument from Andrew Eagleton that profit is most important but Brian counters that BL’s new policy of keeping local support is also crucial. Back at Home Farm, everyone is happy for a change. Thanks to Adam’s excellent arguments, Home Farm received the contract and Jennifer has prepared a special celebratory meal. Justin turns up to join in the festivities and popping champagne corks attract Lilian. During the ensuing flirtation between Justin and Lilian, Brian is incredulous as he finds out that Lilian has rented the Dower House to Justin and thus plans to live with Jennifer and Brian indefinitely. Fade out as Brian gasps and Lilian cackles with champagne and delight.
