Radio Times: Is Helen overdoing things? Ruth has lots to share.

Characters: , , , , , , ,
  • Henry is acting up because he wants his day out from school. Rob explains that it was all Helen’s fault; he even tells Henry that Helen lied. He also criticizes Helen to Henry for keeping secrets which is very naughty. It made Rob feel bad for being left out and Henry responds, ‘Poor Daddy.’ When Helen comes in, Henry tells Helen she is bad and he is not speaking to her. Rob stops Helen from going after Henry and says that he will calm Henry down but Henry was right after all.
  • Kenton has an idea of encouraging pancake flippers to take selfies as they run the race. Jolene shrieks with horror at the insurance issues but the main worry is finding a chef. The couple go through the applications; they want someone special and very good. There is a young woman Zoe but Jolene has doubts because why would she want to come to Ambridge at such short notice. Kenton reminds Jolene that Zoe’s fiancé is working at the Science Park nearby. And she has worked in Belgium!
  • Ruth and Usha meet up for a bite and a visit. Ruth gives Usha all the scoop about pastured eggs and the Fairbrothers.
  • Pat comes in and thinks Helen is looking tired. She encourages her to take a proper lunch with Rob. Rob begins to tell Pat all about the episode on Tuesday. Helen relents and agrees to have lunch with Rob to prevent him. Pat leaves and Helen asks Rob not to do that. More secrets, Helen, sneers Rob. His tormenting routine is interrupted by the arrival of Kenton who needs help with his shopping.
  • Ruth also relays Pip’s problems of keeping in touch with Matthew. And how is your love situation, asks Usha? Ruth is very optimistic and says that having so much to look forward to have made all the difference. Oh, cows! They solve everything, laughs Usha. In a more serious manner, Ruth says that while she was in New Zealand, she thought about all that she put David through during the episode with Sam. It destroyed David’s trust and it must have been terrible for him but he never reproached Ruth with it. She is very glad they are still together.
  • Pat finds that Helen has made a coconut order that is far too large. Rob is right there to emphasise Helen’s error. Meanwhile, Jolene comes in to complain about the help that Kenton received. Helen knows what kind of personal product Jolene buys but she put in the wrong kind. Rob stops Helen from making an even swap because the stock record requires all products to be put through the till. There is some sort of glitch with the machine and the music comes in as Rob shouts “Helen!’ and Jolene makes noises of concern.
