Helen is in hospital with her wings clipped.

Radio Times: Rob feels protective, and Kirsty gets some attention.

  • A novel approach in chat-up lines – that’s Kirsty’s verdict when she bumps into Toby outside the shop. He threatens to visit the Grey Gables Health Club but she assures him he needn’t do so on her account. Next out of the shop is Ruth who imparts the news that Helen collapsed on Friday (so if, like me, you were hoping for a Rob-free day, prepare for a disappointment).
  • Rob insists that Helen must look after herself, rattling off a long list of the possible consequences of not eating properly, though he seems more concerned about the effect on the Titchener son and heir than on Helen herself. When Kirsty’s text arrives, Helen’s phone is snatched away; Rob will deal with that later.
  • Adam has good news for Ed: with the return of the BL contract to Home Farm, there will be 2-3 weeks solid work in it for Ed. First, though, Ed has to troubleshoot a fuel problem with the tractor and, as it promises to be a two-man job, he really appreciates Adam staying to help.
  • Rex has been phoning round potential customers for pastured eggs with some success, especially the contacts Josh gave them.
  • Helen may be assured that Tom has the shop well in hand and Pat is looking after Henry. When Kirsty rings, Rob takes command and gives Kirsty a brusque brush-off: family visitors only; Helen must have complete rest. There is a team lined up to help Helen but the most important member is – no, not Helen herself, it’s Rob. He will not be letting her out of his sight for a single second. (There’s something to look forward to, Helen; there will be no escape from now on.)
