Kenton and Fallon accentuate the positive.

  • Always looking for ways to earn some money, Eddie runs into Robert, who is out looking for Scruff as he bird watches. The sighting of some Mediterranean gulls seems to excite Robert, but he swears Eddie to secrecy. They discuss the flood damage at Ambridge Hall. Robert is pessimistic, but Eddie does his best to persuade Robert to let him take charge of rebuilding the conservatory. Diplomatic to the last, Robert says he will need to consult Lynda and the insurers first.
  • The Dunkirk Spirit prevails at the church, with Alan and Pat stocking the food store for flood victims, and the news that Emily-from-Darrington will still go ahead with her sing-along Messiah. Freda’s funeral is now fully planned, though she will not be buried in the green burial site. When Alan praises Rob’s heroism in the face of the great flood, Pat tells him she thinks Rob is having a reaction to it; according to Helen he has been quiet and withdrawn all weekend. Could it be that our deluvial hero has something else on his mind?
  • The Dunkirk spirit prevails at The Bull, too. Kenton plants up the hanging baskets, aided by Fallon, who waves aside his regrets over not being able to fund her tearoom; she is going to see the bank about a loan. She just knows this is going to be her year. Kenton has plans for a pop-up Bull on the Green over Easter. Their mood of optimism is quickly lowered by several notches with the arrival of Jolene, Ambridge’s Mrs Glum.
