  • Alistair loiters on the streets of Felpersham, hoping to meet Ryan before the GA meeting, and give him extra support. When Ryan arrives, they go for a coffee, and Ryan tells Alistair how hard he is finding it all. His lowest point was when he sat his toddler son on his knee so he could carry on gambling on Brazilian football. Alistair assures him that with help, he’ll get through it.
  • Flu has laid Lynda low, so Robert is in charge of rehearsals for the pantomime. He’s got his work cut out with Kenton, Eddie and Mike, all of whom are convinced they’re right for the part of Dame Trott.
  • After the GA meeting, Ryan and Alistair go for a drink. Ryan’s surprised to hear that Alistair’s a vet. He’s just a warehouseman, and he’s got major money problems. He can’t understand why his wife hasn’t left him. Alistair is understanding, and eventually Ryan admits he’s feeling much better about things.
  • In the Bull, all the would-be dames fall over themselves to buy Robert drinks. Alistair calls in, and Kenton tells him he’s sure he’s got the part. Not only that, he’s in charge of fireworks for the village bonfire. Things can’t get much better than that.
