Kirsty could be heading for stormy waters; things don’t seem to be looking up for Harrison and the cricket club.

Radio Times: Kirsty receives a complaint, and Roy helps out Harrison.

  • At the Grey Gables Health Club, Miranda tries to attract Kirsty’s attention but she’s on the phone. Miranda is approached by Harrison who thanks her for presenting prizes at a recent community event. She has no recollection and dismisses him out of hand. As Kirsty finishes her call, Miranda complains about the state of the changing room dryers. Kirsty makes some overly acidic remarks and Miranda is far from amused. She is going to complain to the management.
  • Eddie finds Clarrie changing their guest’s bed linen. Mrs de Freitas has apparently shed some fake tan on a sheet and refuses to sleep another night on it. Eddie sees an opportunity to charge extra for the additional laundry. Clarrie says no but sends him off to the village shop for extra loo rolls as their guests are going through it like there’s no tomorrow. Now there’s an income generator if ever there was one.
  • Harrison calls in to see Roy at Grey Gables on cricket club business. He needs his help at nets tonight. While waiting, he has to listen to Lynda’s complaint about a speeding driver in the village. Roy turns up and the men drift into the lounge to get some privacy. Seconds later Miranda hoves into view, demanding to see Kathy Perks about her complaint about a member of staff’s attitude. Careful Lynda!
  • Eddie returns, via The Bull, with the necessary purchases. Apparently, Mr & Mrs De Freitas have got through five toilet rolls in less than two days. He wonders if they went out last night dressed as mummies. He determines to check the towels before they leave. But for the moment, a very polite email enquiry about accommodation from one Harriet Vane needs his immediate attention.
  • At the Health Club, Lynda enquires about Kirsty’s wellbeing, wondering if her day has had any frustrations. Kirsty realises that she’s referring to Miranda’s complaint. She lets poor old Lynda have it with both barrels, accusing Miranda of being a “snotty” woman and indeed most of the clientele as being pampered and vain. Lynda’s reasonable explanation that their customers are paying for top end service cuts no ice. Kirsty tells her to return to reception and mind her own business.
  • Roy returns home having done some cricket instruction with Harrison. Apparently Molly and Lily show little promise but Anisha could develop as a bowler. He finds Kirsty battling with the wifi. He asks how her day has been. She senses that he has been tipped off by Lynda with regard to the complaint. She acidly tells him that she doesn’t need a life coach, especially one like him who has lost his job, wrecked his marriage and can’t get a woman. He goes off to prepare dinner and recover from the assault, leaving her to sigh mournfully.
