  • Having come home late, David set two alarms, and when they go off, neither he nor Ruth is very happy about it. David’s mood manages to last all day, and he snaps at Ruth when she fusses about the tablet they have ordered for Pip’s twenty-first birthday.
  • A shopping trip awaits Kirsty and Helen – the great wedding dress hunt. Helen is full of her fantastic weekend, though Kirsty finds it hard to believe that Helen is a Rugby fan. When Helen construes Pat and Tony being forced to have Henry to stay as a sure sign that they are starting to accept Helen’s relationship with Rob, Kirsty nearly chokes.
  • Lambing is in full swing at Brookfield, so it will be bought pie and oven chips tonight. Ruth tells a very grumpy David about Jill going on her own to the pub. The burglary has clearly upset her.
  • Kirsty is horrified at the price of wedding dresses, but Helen persuades her to try some on. She looks wonderful, but Kirsty is none too sure about the neckline of the first one. Helen seems envious, talking about fairy tale dresses.
  • Ruth rings the police to see if they have any news on their investigation into Jill’s burglary. They are unable to give her any news, but suggest looking at more security devices. Ruth is not impressed. Ben wants to call on Jill before going home from school, but snappy Ruth says she is too busy. So busy, in fact, that the pie and chips end up as burnt remains which no-one will eat. I hate lambing time says Ben meaningfully.
