Rob wants to see the Rugby. Rob wants Henry to stay at Bridge Farm. What Rob wants, Rob has to get.

Radio Times: Rob is in need of some help and Jolene takes offence.

  • Kenton complains bitterly about crumpled shirts. Jolene has more than her share of the wardrobe space, much of it clothes dating back to her days as the Lily of Layton Cross. Jolene thinks she will wear them again someday, but Kenton seems to think she might find it difficult to fit into them. That, and remarks about the unsuitability of rhinestones and suede result in Kenton having to iron his own shirts.
  • Still down in the dumps, Tony tries to find jobs about the farm. Pat tries to persuade him to leave knocking in fencing posts and watch a DVD or go to The Bull, but Tony is having none of it. If Pat is bored, why doesn’t she ring Kathy? Pat is diverted by a phone call; Rob wants to come and talk to her face to face, and won’t take no for an answer.
  • At The Bull, Rob calls in to ask why they are not showing Rugby. He wants to give Helen and Henry a treat, so will Kenton put it on? Rob certainly knows how to woo Helen and entertain a three year old. When Kenton tries to interest Rob in the Valentine’s dinner, Rob says he thought it was being replaced by a singles night. Jolene has stuck fliers over Kenton’s posters.
  • Fresh from their romantic break in St Lucia, Susan and Neil return. Susan is amazed at how clean everything looks; has Emma cleaned the carpet? Fortunately Emma is able to divert Susan’s attention by asking about the holiday. It was cocktails and sunsets all the way.
  • Fresh from exerting control at The Bull, Rob wastes no time in getting to the point with Pat. He is utterly committed to Helen (and, as an afterthought, Henry) and would like to give her a treat for Valentine’s Day, though as he will again be away on business, it will have to take place on Thursday. Perhaps Pat and Tony would like to have Henry to stay? A startled Pat realises he has not spoken to Helen about this. She did, after all, make it very clear that Henry was to settle in his new home before seeing his grandparents again. Without batting an eyelid, Rob smoothly brushes all Pat’s concerns aside and applies the pressure. He would be most grateful if they could have Henry. But maybe Pat is not as susceptible to Rob’s charm as her daughter.
