Susan disposes of a rumour. Kenton disposes of Jolene’s clothes.

Radio Times: Kenton ups his game. Meanwhile, Clarrie is feeling miffed.

  • Rivalry and rumour abound in Ambridge. Kenton is determined to make a success of his romantic dinners for two, but feels thwarted by Jolene’s extensive advertising of her singles night. Jolene is furious when she discovers that Kenton has packed her ‘old’ clothes away in the basement to make room in the wardrobe.
  • Susan resumes work at the dairy, but finds Clarrie distinctly cool towards her. Even a present from St Lucia fails to thaw the atmosphere. Eventually the reason becomes clear. She is hurt that Susan failed to tell her about her lottery win. When she asks Susan whether she gave her children anything, Clarrie is amazed to hear they only had £500. Susan quickly realises that her win has been vastly exaggerated in Ambridge, and tells Clarrie the truth. Relieved, Clarrie admits that her worst fear was that Susan and Neil would move away. No, says Susan, this is our home and no matter how much we won, we would never move away.
  • Jazzer is also under the impression that Neil and Susan are millionaires, but leaves Neil puzzled when he asks where their next luxury holiday is to be. Luckily Jazzer’s attention is fully occupied by his prospects at the singles night.
