Lilian and Justin patch their differences; Ruth and David find themselves the target of anger over IBR.

Characters: Brian, David, Jennifer, Justin, Lilian, Ruth, Tom- Lilian worries about her hair although Brian tells her that Justin can’t wait to get back together. Brian hints that Justin likes to play games and he is a bit of a tease. Brian realises he has said too much and he tries to back out. Justin comes up in a taxi driven by Rex Fairbrother. After Lilian leaves, Brian complains about being in the middle of the lovers’ manoeuvres. Adam and Brian blame David for the infected cattle on Home Farm.
- Justin and Lilian have an intimate lunch where they go over all the details of their relationship. Lilian complains about Justin’s lack of interest the past week but Justin declares his love and devotion. Lilian reciprocates. Then Justin presents Lilian with a lovely pair of earrings; he was going to purchase a ring with the same stones but he thought that gift might be misinterpreted.
- Jenny stops in to buy some greens from the Farm Shop and she talks to Tom. IBR is the centre of their conversation. Tom is all attention at the news that Adam’s cattle are infected. This proves it, he declares. It is the fault of Brookfield.
- Ruth and David are having lunch and David mentions that Pip seems depressed. Brian comes in and wants to confront them about the source of the IBR infection. He wants David and Ruth to pick up the vet’s bill tab. David and Ruth deny responsibility without hesitation.
- Lilian and Justin discuss what to do with the rest of the afternoon. Lilian reminds Justin they agreed to take things slowly. Lilian decides to be dropped off at Home Farm. Both decide to call frequently; Justin wants Lilian to commit to having breakfast with him tomorrow. Lilian changes her mind and agrees to come back to the Dower House now.
- More heated discussion takes place between David and Ruth and Brian. Tom comes in and he is very angry as well. Tom is particularly angry about Tony’s Angus cattle. Loud voices ensue and Tom repeats Tony’s phrase: David is not half the farmer his father was.
