Lilian meets a man. Helen claims she will never want to meet a man
Radio Times: Lilian and Paul have a capital time.
Characters: Ed, Eddie, Helen, Ian, Lilian, Paul, Vicky- As arranged, Lilian meets Paul in London, and opts for the tourist trail. She tells him quite a bit about her life, including Guernsey and the Costa Rica episode.
- Eddie and Joe put the two bull calves to the lame cow who is to suckle them pending their slaughter. They think Ed was right to stand up to Vicky, though Joe reminds Eddie that legally the cows are Vicky’s until the loan is paid. Eddie wants to practise the routine for the talent show, but Joe can’t get to grips with the timing of his lines.
- Helen tells Ian about her latest visit to the clinic. She’s been advised to tell her child about its father before it’s three. She’s grateful to Ian for listening, especially since Tony and Tom are so against the whole idea. Ian wonders what might happen should Helen meet another partner, but she insists she will never want a man – except Ian, who is the perfect man but off limits.
- Vicky calls to see her two calves, who are suckling well, though Joe doesn’t tell her what a job they had to make the cow accept the calves. Vicky thanks Joe and Eddie for their help, and goes off to find Mike, in order to talk tactics about her veal.
- Paul sees Lilian off at the station. Neither of them has mentioned their day together to their respective families, but they both want to meet again.
