Lilian promises Adam that she was ending things with Matt, not beginning them. Susan is less than thrilled that Clarrie’s kefir wins the taste test.

Radio Times: Lilian tries to explain herself

Characters: , , , ,
  • Tom is dropping a veg box around to Lilian who admits, by accident, that she doesn’t really eat much of it. But there is a free jar of gooseberry jam which Lilian is equally – ahem – fascinated by. The Tom gets started on fermented food but even Lilian has heard about that from Susan already.
  • Susan and Clarrie are being rather coy about the kefir. Susan insists she hasn’t tried very hard at all, just dashed something off. But they can both agree that school uniform is so expensive. When Tom arrives Susan tries to explain why she only has one sample. Clarrie says it is too late for that. It is for Tom to judge. Tom says he appreciates both of their efforts. He likes Susan’s kefir but she is then outraged that Clarrie has added blueberries to hers when that was her idea. And Tom loves it.
  • Adam visits Lilian to tell her that he saw her kissing Matt. Lilian tries to explain that she has been with Matt for years and she was trying to bring something to an end, not start it up again. Maybe there had been a flirtation but certainly no affair. And now Matt has checked out of Grey Gables so nothing will happen and she will make Justin an excellent wife. Adam says the worst thing is that it stirred up things with Ian again. Lilian is very sorry for the hurt she has caused and very grateful that he won’t tell Justin. Adam will have to find something to finally put things right with Ian.
  • Susan seriously sulks about Clarrie’s kefir being preferred. Clarrie even suggests she is looking peaky and maybe a spare kefir face mask would help. That doesn’t end well.
