Lilian still isn’t happy about Matt employing Brenda. Ruairi is very unsettled without Jennifer.

• Lilian finds Brenda looking for a corkscrew in the kitchen and isn’t impressed. She doesn’t want the “office girl” wandering around. And why do they need a corkscrew anyway! Turns out he is planning on a party for some developers and he’s trying to find a suitable wine. Brenda is going to be adding a touch of glamour to the occasion. He’s also sending her to the cheese launch to chat up some councillors. Lilian isn’t impressed. But when she realises a ban on Brenda in the house means Matt will also stay in the office she relents.
• More corkscrews are needed at Glebe Cottage too where they are celebrating Shula and Kenton’s birthday with Chateau Pargetter. Hayley appears to be looking after then entire Archer clan. Brian drops round with Ruairi and Shula’s present. He still seems to think that Jennifer is going to die because she’s gone away. Brian is certainly looking very tired and it’s not going to get any easier.
• At Brookfield they have a cow with summer mastitis. They just hope it isn’t anything worse. Finally he makes the party and out of the blue tells Ruth she looks stunning and it’s going to be him that takes her home.
