Matt makes Lilian jumpy. Nic tells Clarrie a lie. Vicky wants her teddies to be on show.

Radio Times: Eddie’s out to impress, and Matt’s keeping his eyes open.

Characters: Clarrie, Eddie, Jill, Lilian, Matt, Nic, Vicky

• Eddie is off to show Lilian a patio he has laid. He wonders why Pat is being so evasive about the TB tests. Eddie can be equally evasive, though; he claims he has not had a chance to ask William or Ed about timings for the birthday lunch.
• Nic meets Vicky and Bethany feeding the ducks. Nic shows Vicky her scan, but is mortified when she realises that it was at this stage that Vicky found out about Bethany’s condition. Vicky assures her that she is fine about it and would not have Beth any other way. Jill comes along, and they chat about the flower festival. Vicky is keen to offer her teddy collection as part of the displays. When Jill tells Clarrie this, they wonder if the story of Elisha sending bears to eat up small children might be a possibility.
• As Lilian views Eddie’s work, she is startled to see Matt. He looked in Lilian’s desk diary and on the spur of the moment decoded to come along. It seems to be becoming a habit.
• A worried Eddie calls on Nic. How are they to keep their plans secret from Clarrie? Nic tells Eddie to leave it to her. She calls on Clarrie and tells her that the children are going to a birthday party with swimming and pizza, so lunch will not be required. Clarrie hides her disappointment by suggesting tea instead.
• Lilian is caught red-handed by Matt looking at his diary. He apologises for intruding on her meeting with Eddie, and goes off to fix Lilian a large G and T. This gives Lilian the chance to ring Paul. Matt is golfing tomorrow, so they can meet, but will have to be very careful
