Matt’s patience runs out so Paul is in for a surprise.

Radio Times: David makes an offer, and Matt puts things in place.

  • Tony didn’t sleep well; he’s not having second thoughts but it’s a big step they are taking. He’s always been a dairy farmer; now he will be just a glorified market gardener. The cows are like partners – and they are getting rid of them. And what should they do with the money – property perhaps? He realises he has lent a tool to David, so must go and get it back.
  • At Brookfield, Tony interrupts a frosty conversation between Pip and David, just as David was getting round to discussing Pip’s car problem; he agrees with Ruth that it was a bit harsh to expect her to get another car without some help.
  • Back on the subject of Pip’s car, David is sure there are reasonable cars around; if she finds one she can afford, her parents will have it thoroughly checked. They will help with the insurance too, which will be dearer because of her claim. David emphasises that she must start saving; there are always unexpected bills and in time she may be able to afford a newer car. Spencer will help her find one.
  • Tom has had good news; Bellinghams want a trial run of both his ready-meal lines.
  • Matt is keen to look at Elizabeth’s housing sites but Lilian is reluctant to take on new-builds. She is clearly on edge. Matt tells her he has been worried; is there something on her mind? No, nothing out of the ordinary. He makes an excuse to go outside and makes a call to arrange for Paul to be taken care of – not Armageddon, just a warning.
