Characters: Eddie, Joe, Mike, Neil, Tony, Vicky

• Joe takes Bartleby for a drive, and meets Neil. Never one to miss an opportunity, he tries to negotiate a discount for shoeing Bartleby. With financial worries of his own, Neil tells Joe to speak to Christopher himself.
• Tony calls to borrow a map from Neil, in preparation for the footballers’ reunion. He gives Neil a hand with some fencing, and comments that Colin has given his notice in; they’ll need to find someone else to work in the dairy.
• Eddie’s having no luck with his metal detector, and is still sore about Ed’s action in telling Oliver about his coin find. He tells Mike he’s got very little work on, though Will has found him a few hours on the shoot. Suddenly the detector bleeps loudly; he’s found an old bracelet.
• Neil asks Tony whether Tom might be interested in buying some weaners from him. Tony says he’s sure he would once his present contract expires – but that’s no good to Neil; he’s got more immediate money worries.
• Mike gives Vicky a dance lesson, and once again she flatters him outrageously. Mike is very smitten, and when Vicky says she’s got an overnight bag in the car, just in case … Mike’s like a lovesick teenager.
• Eddie shows Joe the bracelet, which Joe recognises as his late wife’s. He’ll get it cleaned up and give it to Clarrie. Eddie is touched.
