News from the Laurels
Radio Times: News from the Laurels
Characters: Chris, Eddie, Janet, Joe, Kathy, Marjorie, Shula- Eddie’s complaining that the bottle of whisky he won was only half full! It appears that Marjorie, who donated it, had two bottles both in boxes and had given the wrong one. Equally unfortunately, it’s a little late for Eddie to return the now empty bottle …. But the good news is that the table top sale made over £300.
- Shula’s conference on church tourism has gone well and she’s lots of ideas to discuss with Janet, not least for the parishes under her control to liase – an idea Janet can empathise with as she’s four bonfire parties to get to tonight!
- Kathy’s agreed to sell tickets for the panto, but Eddie and Joe aren’t best pleased and haven’t a good word to say about Larry’s production. Kathy, though, says that some bits of the rehearsals she’s seen have been quite good.
- Shula and Christine are discussing the next stage of Shula’s horse-riding instructor’s award (with which she shouldn’t have any problems what with all her experience and a vet as a boyfriend should remove some of the anatomical problems!)
- As Chris and Shula are chatting the phone rings – it’s Phil with bad news. He’s calling from The Laurels. Uncle Tom died this afternoon.
