  • Jill and Shula chat about Kenton’s stag do which went well and even Jim enjoyed it. Jolene’s pampering day should go well too. At least Jill has finished the wedding cake. She wants to get it to Lower Loxley so Elizabeth can look after it. And Meriel arrives today. Shula worries that having her in the cottage might be too much.
  • Jim has got Joe to the orchard for Apple Day. Nic is there showing Poppy off to Ruth. She isn’t seeing much of William with the shoot about to start. Jim tells them that Joe is still very down. He won’t do his exercises. Nic takes Poppy to try to cheer him up. Jim finally manages to tell Ruth that he was worried about Jill’s driving. Ruth is surprised, it’s not like her. She thanks him for telling her.
  • Nic tries to encourage Joe to get on with his exercises. He would be able to do all the things he always does, and he could hold the baby. So she tries to tell him to build the exercise into his daily regime. George suggests he could do it when he was filling his pipe. Joe sounds a bit more positive. Emma isn’t impressed to hear that Nic’s technique seems to have worked.
  • Daniel is having a great time in America. He’s grown up so much – a seasoned traveller now. Jill reminds here that she will need to have sorted Darrell out by the time Daniel comes back – it won’t be fair on him otherwise. Shula says she hopes the interview with the Job Centre might be a turning point.
