Oh, brother!

Radio Times: Oh, brother!

Characters: , , , , ,
  • David and Ruth are getting to grips with the realism of their situation, trying to massage their finances to minimise the impact of the loss of the cows, the loss of the milk (although they plan to lease their quota out until they can sell their own milk again) and the feed costs when they bring the remaining cows in for the winter. One conclusion they draw is that they can’t afford to keep Mike on as a dairyman. Ruth’s still feeling like it’s all her fault and they’re both worried about Phil’s black moods.
  • Usha and Satya celebrating Divali in style with Marjorie, David, Ruth (who need a party) and some work colleagues. It’s a great success – which gets greater when her brother, Shiv, turns up for a flying visit. He nearly spoils in when he questions why the brother of one of the causes of her current misery is at the party, but she defends David and Ruth as being very supportive.
