Pat feels emotional
Radio Times: Pat feels emotional
Characters: Betty, Helen, Pat, Roy, Shula, Susan, Tony- Another disastrous cricket match yesterday and Sean wants the whole team at an emergency nets session. Tony’s not playing until his back’s better and Tommy’s not going because Tony’s offered to give him some driving practice. Pat suspects that this is just indicative of his inability to commit to anything and it becomes obvious that she and Tony disagree on Tommy’s plans not to return to his A levels.
- After he give’s Tommy his driving practive, Tony needs a drink and by the number of them in the pub, it seems that few of the team are going to be at nets – apart from the “Big Three”, Sean, David and Neil, who seem to be antogonising the remaining members.
- Helen’s back at Bridge Farm, much to the joy of her parents. She’s had fun working in Ireland but is happy to be home. Pat’s very pleased to see her back and they talk about why she spent most of the summer away. Obviously, it was John and she felt that the overwhelming grief was too constricting and while no-one’s over his demise, she (and everyone else) have finall moved on.
- Susan tells Betty that Richard’s been in Manchester house hunting, they’ve not been told officially, but they’re sad to think that Richard’s going.
- Shula’s trying to get hold of Alistair to tell him her news, but only gets his answering machine (and, for some reason, would rather talk to it rather than ring his mobile).
