Pawel offers advice which is not well received. Brenda offers advice which is not well received.
Radio Times: Adam gets a fresh perspective. Meanwhile, Vicky takes offence.
Characters: Adam, Brenda, Mike, Pawel, Vicky- Mike tells Brenda how much he is looking forward to his woodmanship course. He is fed up with Jazzer’s constant demand for holiday at the same time as Harry. Vicky waltzes in wearing her new dress. A stunned but tactless Brenda tells Vicky it is too short and too young for her. When Vicky turns to Mike for support, she gets none, just the suggestion that the gold one looks better. Unfortunately Vicky has never had a gold dress; that was Betty.
- Pawel rings Adam with some bad news. One of the pickers has reversed a tractor into the polytunnels, causing some damage. Pawel offers to stay on and help Adam fix it.
- Vicky gives Mike a very hard time for failing to take her side. Mike wisely clears off to The Bull.
- Pawel tells Adam he is a manager who is not allowed to manage. Pawel thinks Adam should look at dividing the Home Farm land into smaller units and diversifying, putting grazing back into the rotation. He also thinks Adam would do well in Poland, where farming methods would suit him better. Adam accepts the advice with characteristic bad grace.
- When Mike returns from the pub, it is to a frosty atmosphere. Vicky is not growing old gracefully, and takes it out on Mike, who is torn between his few days away and supporting her at her clinic appointment. Snappily, Vicky assures him she will be fine. But when Mike has gone to bed, she rings Lynda, saying she needs some urgent advice.
