  • Tony is still very depressed. Pat is wondering about telling Peggy about Rob but Tony says she has enough on her plate at the moment and he is even more reluctant to talk to Peggy about her will. When Helen takes Henry off to Rob’s for the day, Pat tries to cheer Tony up a bit by suggesting going to The Bull for lunch.
  • Jennifer takes Peggy to church and to see Jack’s grave. After church, Peggy says the one thing she’d hope for would be if Helen was settled with someone and Jennifer ends by blurting out about Rob. She does just about manage to say that the marriage was probably over before Helen came on the scene. She admits that Rob had explained the situation to Brian. Peggy says Pat and Tony must be devastated.
  • Jazzer is a bit fed up with Tom’s discussion of wedding plans and Tony is surprised to hear that Tom has been telling him about the inheritance. Being in The Bull reminds Tony of his childhood. Then Jennifer appears and admits that she has told Peggy. Pat is not impressed. They’d been waiting for the right time.
  • Pat drops round to see Peggy later. Peggy admits the news about Rob was a bit of a shock. Pat says they are still worrying about it too – especially Henry. Pat admits though that it is Tony she is more worried about. Then just as Pat is trying to explain, Helen rings. She says she wants to come round “with someone” but Peggy says she already knows about Rob and says she is happy to see them both on Friday. Then Pat admits that Tony is really depressed. He feels Peggy made a very public statement about his ability as a farmer and a businessman. Peggy more or less says that any success was all down to Pat and that their vision might not be right for the farm now. Peggy says she is really worried about Tony. He’s had a heart attack and been seriously ill and he should be able to step back. Pat says he isn’t ready to but Peggy insists that Pat and Tony have brought the farm as far as they have but it is for Helen and Tom to take it forward now.
