  • Roy and Hayley are looking forward to having Phoebe back and are en route to the airport; meanwhile Vicky and Abbie are decorating a cake. When Phoebe eventually meets her parents she bursts into tears.
  • How did he do it? Jazzer has persuaded Mike to let him have time off; perhaps Mike was distracted by something on his mind. That leaves Fallon with a problem: she really doesn’t want Jazzer tagging along in Edinburgh. Jolene suggests perhaps inviting someone else as well.
  • Phoebe is subdued on the way back and goes straight upstairs, much to Abbie’s disappointment. Alone with Brenda, Vicky reports that she has told Mike about her pregnancy but she doesn’t know how he has taken it; he needs time to get his head round it. Vicky is worried that she won’t measure up; Brenda tactfully reassures her that she doesn’t have to compare herself to Betty. Vicky fears she cannot do it alone; Brenda is supportive and offers to go with her to the next midwife appointment, if Mike can’t or won’t.
  • Phoebe is surprised with her new decor but seems to like it. Roy gently probes about matters South African but she rapidly changes the subject when he asks about Kate. Eventually Phoebe ventures downstairs and admits with some feeling that it is great to be home. Let’s cut the cake.
  • Fallon has found a willing Edinburgh volunteer in Kirsty – if she can get time off from Jaxx. So Jolene is enlisted to get round Kenton; Fallon’s happiness depends on it.
