Pip and Toby end up in a drunken embrace on Lakey Hill. Harrison Burns is elected cricket team captain in absentia.
Radio Times: Pip makes a suggestion, and Alistair blames himself.
Characters: Adam, Alistair, Elizabeth, Pip, Rex, Richard- Elizabeth and Richard are enjoying a quiet drink without the twins who are celebrating the end of their GCSEs. Freddie is a bit of a problem but Lily should do well. But Richard really wants to talk about Sasha. He wants to take her away to Italy for 2 weeks but her mother thinks 2 weeks is too long for her to be away. Elizabeth thinks Chloe must be jealous. She’d love someone to take her two away for a fortnight. Adam and Alistair turn up for the EGM at The Bull but Richard doesn’t want to join them.
- Pip does the voice over for the new cut of Toby’s video. She still isn’t convinced but has some idea of including birdsong. So they go to record some on Lakey Hill. That means letting Rex down so he gets a text at The Bull. He assumes it will mean Toby is in with a chance with Pip. Rex doesn’t know if he is going to the awards dinner. Only one DJ between the pair of them. And Elizabeth has lost her plus one so would Richard go?
- The EGM is a disaster. No one turns up. Adam is determined to make the meeting quorate so go searching for random cricketers in the bar. Rex and Richard are dragged away. Eventually the meeting goes ahead and Alistair says he must stand down. He hasn’t got enough time and it isn’t fair on the team. He would still play though. Alistair tries to persuade Adam who tries to persuade Richard who tries to persuade Rex. None of them will do it. So why not Harrison Burns?
- Toby does record some birdsong with Pip but then persuades her to stay with him on Lakey Hill. And no point troubling Rex by letting him know they won’t be back. Pip seems more interested in talking about Alice’s interview. Alice is very determined. That’s how she ended up with Chris. Toby makes a pass at Pip which she initially says is arrogance but seems to go along with in the end.
