Pip returns to the farm, and farming. Kathy visits Jaxx and sees how Kenton should be.
Radio Times: Kathy faces the truth, and the prodigal daughter returns.
Characters: David, Jamie, Kathy, Kenton, Kirsty, Pat, Pip, Ruth- Pip arrives home while Ruth is cooking dinner, the frying onions burn as Ruth comforts her. Pip realises Jude didn’t care for her at all and feels so stupid that she never saw him for what he was. Ruth urges her to find David and talk to him.
- David asks Pip about the heifer he has chosen to show. She judges him to be worthy. David explains Josh has been trying to prepare her but isn’t up to Pip’s league; it needs someone with a proper feel for cattle. Pip gets started with the comb and scissors and reminisces about being present at the heifer’s birth. David asks if she wants to come to the show. She might. Nobody mentions Jude.
- Jamie tells his mum that it isn’t surprising Kenton is fed up when she can’t make the effort to go and see Jaxx. They should go tonight and eat there; no excuses. When they arrive, Kenton and Kirsty are laughing heartily. Kenton is pleased to see them and gives an impressed Kathy a guided tour, even though Friday’s a busy night.
- Later, Kathy tells Pat she knows it was vindictive to not let Kenton come on Sunday, but she has been trying to make amends all week. Tonight she realised how far apart they’ve grown, and how Kenton should be when he was laughing. Her arrival meant that all went away, though he tried not to show it. Pat says to give it time, but Kathy thinks Kenton’s just a shell of himself when with her.
