Radio Times: Toby Fairbrother makes a splash, and Pip gets a shock.

  • When Pip invited the brothers Fairbrother to take part in tonight’s Treasure Hunt, she planned to partner Toby. However, cousin Kate has snapped Toby up, leaving Rex as Pip’s driver and co-competitor. Does her disappointment show?
  • Never slow to miss an opportunity to be in Adam’s company, Charlie offers to help him move the combine to Berrow Farm for Sunday’s Open Farm event. Adam accepts but if Charlie expects him to spin Damara’s line on the environmental benefits of their ventures, he will be disappointed.
  • Pip and Rex are getting on well, both in terms of solving clues and relating to each other. He talks about his rugby injury and how it made him think about his life; she talks about her vision for Brookfield, when she is back – older and wiser – from her new job. Rex would be cautious about investing £400k in robotic milkers when the margin is so small.
  • Meanwhile Kate and Toby have a different plan: since she knows that the finish is at Home Farm, they opt to skip the questions and go straight there. Brian and Jennifer have wisely gone out, leaving Adam in charge. He is not impressed with Toby and Kate leaping into the pool and Brian will not be impressed that a raddle has found its way into the pool, turning the water purple. Pip and Rex find themselves apologising for the behaviour of their respective relatives. When Rex advises her that his brother is the sort of man that mothers warn their daughters about, she declares that she has no interest in Toby.
  • Then Pip gets a call: granny Heather is back in hospital having had a massive stroke.
