Characters: , , , , ,
  • Will is in raptures as he sees his new baby daughter. She will be called Poppy, and Nic longs to take her home, Clarrie has offered to take time off so that she can be there for them.
  • Because Pat has extra work covering for Clarrie, Helen offers to do more in the dairy. Emma will look after Henry, and loses no time in telling Helen how heroically she dealt with Nic’s drama yesterday, then fits in a sneering remark about Poppy’s name.
  • Clarrie has shepherd’s pie in the oven for Nic’s homecoming, and is in raptures when she sees Poppy. According to Will, Emma is reluctant to bring George to see the baby, but Nic is quick to come to Emma’s defence.
  • Helen sees Tom loading porkers for the abattoir. Oh so casually he enquires after Kirsty; she is not answering her phone. Helen, equally casually, remarks that she will be at Alice’s party so Tom will see her there.
  • Clarrie admits to Nic that she is worried about Joe. Nic promises to take Poppy to show him as soon as she can. Then Jake and Mia arrive home, eager to see their little sister. To everyone’s surprise, Emma brings George, though he and Jake quickly lose interest in the baby and go off to play. Emma announces that she will produce a cook-book in aid of the organ fund. A stunned Clarrie expresses surprise, but is snappily reminded by Emma that she does have NVQs in catering. Then Emma redeems herself by taking a photo of Nic, Will and Poppy.
