Radio Times: Positive is negative

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • D-Day at Brookfield and, besides being worried, everyone is blaming themselves for the herd’s expansion, which in turn, is being blamed as the possible source of the TB infection.
  • Taking the minds off things, Bert is practising for his audition for Mr Egg the Bailiff in the panto (Nigel plans on going for his assistant – Mr Chips). Chris is visiting and has agreed to model at the fashion show and is trying to convince Jill to too.
  • While Alistair is there looking over the cows they find a reactor to the test and gloom descends. The ministry vet arrives and proceeds to agree with the prognosis – twelve of the fifteen new cows are infected – they’ll have to be slaughtered and there’ll be a restricted movement order on the remainder of the herd. This will entail increased feed bills, reduced milk income and a lot of paperwork. At least, unlike foot and mouth, it will only affect the cows, but this is small consolation to Phil especially.
