  • Josh manages to buttonhole Rex. He’s awash with website enquiries and after a half-hearted apology asks Rex to return. He agrees, but with three conditions. Two days of guaranteed work each week, a salary of £15 per hour and…a heartfelt apology. Josh sensibly agrees to all three points, before landing Rex with arranging a short notice stand at the upcoming Borsetshire Spring Fair. Some folk just don’t learn!
  • As Anisha breezes into work, she finds a very agitated Alistair. Word has reached him that Peggy was upset by Anisha’s attitude during her recent visit. Anisha can’t see that upsetting a valued and influential client can compare to the new equine business she’s bringing in. Alistair disagrees and feels that Anisha owes Peggy an apology. However, Anisha makes it quite clear that nothing could be further from her mind.
  • Ed is working in the garden at Grange Farm. Emma takes him a welcome cuppa with news that Joe’s called the vet to see Bartleby. Talk turns to the news of the forthcoming general election. Adam’s offered Ed half an hour daily to manage his cattle. Emma is pleased about the extra income but insists that she won’t stop work at the chicken factory. They need to save for a place of their own just in case the Sterlings change their plans. Ed’s disappointed, but soon perks up and suggests that they take the children out for the day.
  • Rex meets a rather thoughtful Anisha at The Bull. She mentions her run in with Alistair, for which she’s now sorry. She has her mother’s health on her mind, especially as she’s her father’s main carer. Rex mentions Susan’s star performance at the nets last week. It’s such a pity that she can’t commit to a regular team place. Anisha receives a text message from her mother. All’s well. She goes on to explain gleefully to Rex how she’s apparently been “terrorising old ladies”.
  • Alistair explains to Ed and Emma that Bartleby seems in good condition for his age but Joe wants a second opinion. Emma reckons that he has a crush on Anisha. He’s glad that at least one old client is satisfied with her approach. Emma tries to explain that old people often have their fads when faced with change and that the trouble with Peggy will blow over soon, with no harm done.
  • Rex flags Josh down to tell him that all of the sales calls have been sorted and photography appointments made for next week. He asks if Pip’s around. He’d like a word as she seemed unhappy on Monday. Josh almost let the IBR cat out of the bag. At The Stables, Anisha apologises to Alistair and promises to speak to Peggy. He tells her of Joe’s insistence on seeing her next time. He also mentions that she could speak to Peggy at The Bull tomorrow evening, at Lilian and Justin’s party. It’s open house after all.
