They had planned to go to a wildlife part but Rob has decided that they should go to the elf migration instead and has wound Henry up to think it’s the best thing he could do so Pat and Tony have to give in. Tony comments that Rob doesn’t have his stick and Henry sells Rob down the river by telling Tony that Rob doesn’t need it anymore.
  • Jack is upset again and Helen is knackered again. Kaz helps with a cup of coffee and taking the baby. She manages to calm him down and he seems to doze off. Helen admits she is still worried about the hearing. She blames herself but Kaz says it is what social workers do – let the status quo stand. Helen start whining again that she should have kept Henry safe and that she’d made all the wrong decisions but still won’t say what happened.
  • Anna is enjoying working in Carole’s garden. They talk about Anna’s ex-husband and she says that he is seeing someone else. Then Anna spots Pat and Henry and has to move into the back garden. Rob then turns up as well and Henry runs to him and they wander off together. Pat starts to complain about Rob invading their day with Henry but manages to stop herself.
  • Carole says to Anna how fond Henry seems to be of Rob but Anna snaps that that doesn’t make it any better. Later Anna apologises for snapping. It’s just that Rob playing happy families and twisting everything to suit his own ends. It is probably best that Henry is settled with Rob just now but worries what Rob will be saying to him. Carole suggests cheering her up with a slap up lunch tomorrow.
  • Kaz tells Helen she has rung home. Helen says she can’t bring herself to call – or to see her aunt this week. Kaz suggests she speaks to the prison Chaplain so that she can pass on a message. The Chaplain does call and says it is a common reaction to be low after a custody hearing. Pat is quite impressed by her and Tony thinks it is good that Helen is talking to someone.
